System Requirements
Hardware requirements:
At the moment there are no fixed hardware requirements because Unknown Horizons is still under development. It is possible that the requirements change frequently, but the following gives a more or less good idea of what you might need.
To play Unknown Horizons jerk-free, you need a screen resolution of 800x600 or higher and a processor with at least 2 GHz. We want to decrease this rate in the future. The main problem is our engine which had many very inefficient parts in its code. For last year's Summer of Code, one of our awesome students worked on this performance and the results have been great already.
Still, there is a lot of potential performance fixes - so: If you are a C++ developer and happen to have some free time at hands, please help improving our engine FIFE.
Software requirements:
To run and install Unknown Horizons, you just need a compiled version of FIFE and you must be able to run Python scripts. More about this is found in the Download section.
