If you don't know which system or version you are using, run one of the following commands lsb_release -a or cat /etc/issue in a terminal emulator.

1. Follow these instructions: http://packages.unknown-horizons.org/select.xml
   • Debian sid (unstable) or wheezy (testing) users can skip this step, if they only want the last release packages and not weekly ones! The last release packages are already available in the official repositories.
   • Ubuntu precise (12.04 LTS) users can skip this step, if they only want the last release packages and not weekly ones! The last release packages are already available in the official repositories.
   • Ubuntu Lucid Lynx (10.04.*) users have to install the engine and game from source code.
2. Afterwards, install Unknown Horizons:

apt-get update && apt-get install unknown-horizons 

sudo apt-get update && sudo apt-get install unknown-horizons

Packages for RPM based distributions

sudo layman -a gamerlay && sudo emerge -av unknown-horizons

games-strategy/unknown-horizons **
games-engines/fife **

AUR packages: stable release; git development snapshot.
