Meeting summary

After quite a while of individual work and development, we decided to have regular meetings again in order to manage and organise the tasks more efficiently.

The new jour fixe is every sunday at 18:00 GMT+1h (CET) at the IRC-channel, interested users and developers with or without great ideas or much or few time are very welcome!

Here's a short overview of our last meeting at 27th of February:

  • Thanks to eoc's great work, our application for the google summer of code is decided and mostly done. Further information is available in the wiki.
  • Makin' it free: Replacement of non-free resources is progressing well, it's mostly done for sounds. The biggest next step is to replace unit graphics. (thx @ Kilian)
  • Build menu redesign: Our build menu wasn't able to keep up with all the new buildings we integrate, so we're going to need to restructure it. We decided to write code, that allows for dynamic categorization of buildings (e.g., by increment, or by type) , which will be specified in a file with an easily editable format.
  • Next release: By now, quite some new content and features have been added since the latest release, and it's time for a new stable release. We assembled a list of  tickets for the release; that plus testing is the release plan. A realistic time frame for completing all that seems to be about a month or less.
  • Website update: Our current CMS (CMSMS) sucks, so luckily Nightraven plans to set up a new one (phpoint) and migrate all the data.
  • OpenRheinRuhr: Nightraven is trying to assemble people of our team to be present at this FOSS congress.
  • The full logs of the meeting are available here.

So far with for the update, see you on sunday!
